• Emil saves the life of a little piglet and does what at first looks like a crazy deal at an auction in Backhorva. He drinks lots of lemonade and buys nice gifts for his mother and Ida. Later Emil’s mum makes cherry wine, which causes havoc in Katthult. But it ends well with Emil and the piglet both taking a temperance pledge in front of Lönneberga’s temperance society.
