On the night that Ronja was born, there was thunder. All the little creatures that lived in Matt’s forest huddled away in their holes and hiding places. Only the cruel wild harpies liked the thunderstorms more than any other weather and flew around the fort on Matt’s mountain howling and screeching. Ronja the Robber’s Daughter’s childhood gets off to a great start. And there is a struggle for peace and justice, a struggle she fights together with the robber’s son Birk.
